Edward Heslop, Managing Director
Edward Heslop, Managing Director, joined SHG in 2011. With more than 30 years’ experience in green tech and sustainability, Ed has played a lead role in establishing many new businesses, commercializing technology, and launching new products and services from inception to sale.
Most recently he was Chairman and CEO of Environmental Credit Corp. which created and traded carbon credits and other environmental attributes. Prior to ECC, Mr. Heslop was a co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of AnAerobics/Ecovation, an enterprise that developed, marketed and operated innovative, organic wastewater treatment and wastewater to energy technology prior to its sale to Ecolab. In 1989, he co-founded and served as Director of Operations for Paracelsian, a biotechnology company founded on technology licensed from Cornell University and the University of Rochester. He raised the venture capital to launch this bio-tech business focused on drug discovery and detecting environmental carcinogens in water and soil. In 1992, he took the company public. Earlier in his career, for the better part of a decade, Ed owned and actively managed two dairy businesses.
He serves as an Advisory Board Member to Cornell University’s Charles Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and holds the position of Entrepreneur in Residence, at the Kevin M. McGovern Family Center for Venture Development in the Life Sciences at Cornell. In addition, he was a Founding Board Member of the Executive Council for the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at Cornell
Ed holds a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree from Cornell University.
